Pound Cake Recipe


  • 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons butter at room temperature
  • 1¾ cups, plus 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1¼ ounce package of yeast

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Butter and flour an 8-inch springform pan with 2 tablespoons of each ingredient.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the remaining 1 cup butter and sugar. Then, beat the eggs one at a time and add the baking powder and the remaining 1¾ cups of flour.
  3. Pour the mixture into the pan and cook for 15 minutes. Reduce the heat to 300°F and bake for an additional 25 minutes. Check readiness with a toothpick.
